The Director of Golf Operations is responsible for the efficient and successful management of all golf-related activities and services at the Club. This includes overseeing golf course operations, golf shop management, golf tournaments, staff supervision, member and guest relations, and financial performance. The Director is also expected to work cooperatively & closely with Golf Course Maintenance as well as with other departments when necessary. This is a Full time, Exempt position and will report directly to the General Manager/COO. This position will supervise the following: Director of Golf Instruction, Buyer/Merchandiser, Golf Professionals, Assistant Golf Professionals, and the Member Service Staff.

Qualifications to join our team:
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Director of Golf Operations or similar role required, preferably in a private country club
• Bachelor's degree in Golf Course Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
• PGA (Professional Golfers' Association) membership and certification required.
• Must be PGA Class A.
• Maintain PGA of America membership in good standing in an active classification.
• Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations.
• Knowledge of golf industry trends and best practices. Remain up-to-date on customer relationship management tactics and strategies.
• Act as a role model for all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all employees.
• Self-motivated, service and customer focused attitude.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Schedule and manage tee times, oversee the Foretees reservation system and any other required closures, renovations, or maintenance.
• Track and verify all rounds of golf which includes guest fees, cart fees, bag storage, handicap fees, and other charges necessary, and facilitate accurate accounting and recordkeeping in Jonas.
• Responsible for training and execution of exceptional service from member & guest arrival, experience on the course with well stocked cart and amenities, to cleaning clubs after rounds and any service recovery follow up.
• Oversee golf car fleet while ensuring proper maintenance and recordkeeping.
• Organize and execute golf tournaments, member events, group play and outings.
• Coordinate with the food and beverage department for catering and event logistics.
• Handle tournament registration, scoring, and prize distribution.
• Oversee the operations of practice facility.
• Responsible for effective, timely and well written communications from Golf Operations to Membership. Must include Director of Membership, Marketing and Communication in any and all pertinent communication to ensure proper proofing and brand standards.
• Provide professional Club Repair, Club Fitting Services and Demo Days.
• Ensure the proper storage, safety, and cleaning of golf equipment, including rental and demo clubs.
• Play golf with a variety of members and/or guests as time permits.
• Administer the Rules of Golf (ie. Pace of Play, access to the Tee, etc.) and educate staff.
• Promote and provide Rules of Golf workshops for the membership and any other Member Compliance Issues. Oversee the Golf Shop, including inventory management, retail sales, and customer service, and develop and implement pricing strategies and promotions in conjunction with Buyer / Merchandiser.
• Recruit, train, and supervise golf professionals, member services, retail assistants, in addition to conducting performance evaluations, providing feedback, and accurately maintaining payroll.
• Ensure team adheres to club policies and procedures.
• Develop, provide, and oversee an enhanced golf instruction program offering individual and group clinics for all levels. Ensure that the services of a well-trained staff of professional instructors are available where required.
• Focus on programs for men, women, families, seniors, and juniors.
• Assist with the training of the golf professional staff in regard to player development and encourage their participation.
• Oversee the administration of the golf handicap program along with the Handicap Committee Chair.
• Provide guidance and support to the Golf and Greens Advisory Committee.
• Attend applicable committee meetings and management, and staff meetings when requested (Golf Advisory Committee, Greens and Grounds Advisory Committee and Golf Handicap Committee.)
• Assist in the development and preparation of budgets, including forecasting and review of all golf operations revenues and expenses on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis.

The Director of Clubhouse Operations is similar to an “Assistant General Manager” and will also fulfill the role to the club’s Core Executive Management Team, comprised of the following: General Manager/COO, CFO, Director of Human Resources, Director of Clubhouse Operations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide creative leadership and direction to team leaders and consistently hold team accountable at the highest level.

• Coordinates closely with Human Resources for new hires, terminations, performance evaluations, and employee relation issues and is responsible for overseeing hiring, training, developing, and evaluating staff.
• Places great importance on staff communications and interaction. Conducts weekly operations meetings for all relevant parties and pre and post service meetings, to ensure understanding of the expectations and quality of outcomes for every member experience.
• Inspects to ensure that all safety, sanitation, energy management, preventative maintenance, and other standards are consistently met.
• Develops operating budget for all food and beverage outlets, housekeeping, youth activities, valet and men’s and ladies locker room; and adheres to budgetary guidelines in management and operation of the Clubhouse, personnel costs, and projections for the operation of all departments under their control, and maintaining a check book system for tracking operating expenses.
• Works with Finance and Purchasing departments to ensure the appropriate controls and cost-effective procedures related to purchases, inventories, suppliers, and other necessary expenditures that are in place.
• Adheres to budgeted labor standards and reviews daily/weekly to respond to any unforeseen variances.
• Keeps the General Manager - COO informed of all significant or potentially significant operating matters, problem areas, achievements, or other matters of importance.
• Participates in New Hire Orientation program for Club team members and any other learning and development training as sees fit.
• Help plan and approve external and internal marketing and sales promotions activities for all responsible departments.
• Collaborate with event organizers and outlet management to determine event requirements, including catering, decorations, AV equipment, and staffing needs.
• Responsible for Auditing and Approving Weekly Payroll / Service Charge Distribution.
• Oversees updates within Jonas POS from management execution.
• Must be Staff Liaison for House Social Advisory Committee. Is responsible for the agenda, the schedule, and the minutes.
• Has a fundamental understanding of all facets of a lifestyle club including food and beverage, golf operations, agronomy, facilities, fitness, and tennis, etc.

Uses extensive knowledge of menu development, food and beverage costing, insights into marketing, wage control, knowledge of food products, standard recipes, and proper preparation. Ensures the club buildings and grounds are always neat, clean, and presentable.

Qualifications to join our team:
