Job Summary: Responsibilities include but are not limited to enforcing policies and procedures, which ensure the efficient and effective operation of pool facilities, including personnel management and training. Duties involve all swimming pool operations, including first aid, rotations, scheduling of staff, public relations, limited pool maintenance, pool cleaning, equipment inspection, swim lessons, and water aerobics. Supervises safe, clean, and appealing Club swimming facilities. This employee should have excellent organizational, communication, and public relations skills. This is a working supervisory position requiring weekend and holiday work.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Prepare all work schedules for employees, ensuring the manager or head lifeguard is on duty when the pool is open.
Assists General Manager in the hiring of the lifeguard staff.
Ensure hourly employees work no more than 40 hours per week.
Report hours, days, & time worked for all swim employees in CE reporting to PR Clerk no later than 9 am the Monday of payroll week.
Ensure employees are properly trained in their duties.
Hold monthly training and safety meetings for swim employees.
Register members and guests at the pool. Bill for all pool guests and lessons.
Ensure proper operating condition of all equipment.
Enforce Club rules of safety and conduct.
Maintain positive public relations at the swimming pool.
Maintain and keep all necessary records concerning pool attendance, accident reports, schedules, timekeeping, and disciplinary actions.
Maintain a clean facility including but not limited to bathrooms, trash picked up in and outside of the facility, pool vacuumed daily, more as needed.
Set a positive example for the rest of the staff to follow.
Inform administration when supplies are needed.
Communicate with Maintenance Supervisor to keep equipment in good working order.
Schedule events held at the pool at times other than the regularly scheduled hours.
Check all gates and doors at closing time,
Meet with managers once a week and provide information concerning pool operations.
Plan, promote and follow through with all swim programs.
Other duties as deemed necessary or as required.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Lifeguard Training Certification.
Current Certification in First Aid.
Current Certification in CPR.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Management experience preferred.
4+ years of lifeguarding experience with at least two years in supervisory roles.
